Brompton - C Line 12-speed - 1975 Anniversary Edition

Season:2025

Brand:Brompton

The 1975 Edition. The Gold Standard. A tribute to 50 years of innovation, excellence, and the people who make it possible.

London, 1975. Andrew Ritchie, a brilliant young inventor, put pen to paper and sketched our original folding bike, calling it the ‘bike of the future.’ It was a radical departure from bicycles of the day – the first in a line of iconic designs which, today, represent the gold standard in folding bicycles. The 1975 Edition is a tribute to 50 years of innovation, excellence, and the people who make it possible. Each detail tells a chapter of our story.

The Thermal Fade finish evokes the brazing process used by our team to produce bikes that last a lifetime. Each bike comes with one of 1,975 collectible ‘Brazer’s Coins’ as a tribute to our team’s talent and dedication. And, of course, there’s 50th anniversary gold wherever you look because this is a moment to celebrate!

The Thermal Fade finish is inspired by the colours created during the crucially important frame brazing process. Brazing is the method we use to create a strong and stable bond between the steel tubes that come together to make a Brompton frame. The frame is the heart of every bike, and brazing produces a high-quality, and super-durable result. A highly skilled craft, our brazers are trained in-house for 18-months. Some Master Brazers have been crafting our bikes for over 20 years – passing on their well-honed skills to the newer team members. Each brazer has their own unique style and a small signature at the bottom of every bike frame marks that maker.

C Line is the original folding bike built for the city

Proudly handmade in London since 1975. C Line transforms from a go-anywhere vehicle to a small, locked package in under 20 seconds. Easy to lift, carry or store. You can take it on trains, tuck it in car boots or under restaurant tables.
For fifty years, owners across the world have customised their trusty steel companions to suit their needs.

Today, C Line captures the same smile-inducing, go-anywhere feeling it always has, but it does better than ever.
Lighter, more portable unstoppable. It does more than you think.

Brompton Brazer’s Coin

This Brompton Brazer’s Coin is one of 1,975, made to celebrate everyone who has created our bikes for the last fifty years. There are 52 expert brazers in our London Factory, handmaking every single Brompton. We’re proud of what they do, that’s why each bike is marked by its maker. Each brass coin is embossed with one of our brazer’s initials. The material will naturally patina over time, making it as unique as your Brompton bike.

1975 Edition Bottle Holder

The Bottle Holder is the perfect solution for access to hydration on the go. With a simple attachment to your handlebars and an adjustable bungee strap system that can accommodate different shapes of bottles, and even allows you to fold the bike with it still securely in place.
