Frequently asked questions
How does it work?
We can offer you a credit for your existing bike when you make a purchase with us. This means you’ll need to pay less for an upgrade. This is a popular and cost-effective way to buy your dream bike. We’ll provide you with a trade-in value that can be used as credit against any item we have in stock.*
Can I use Klarna while trading in?
Certainly! As long as the amount you are paying is still a financeable amount (£250+) you can utilise Klarna. Just let the team in store know.
Can I transfer the value to a voucher?
Unfortunately, no. We cannot transfer trade-in values to vouchers. If you need more time to choose your new bike, in certain circumstances we may be able to hold the trade-in value in your customer account.
What happens during my drop-off?
When you drop off your bike, one of our expert mechanics will inspect and assess the bike. We then pass on our assessment with our trade-in partner, Cycle Exchange, who will generate an offer within 1/2 days. During the assessment one of our staff members can help you start thinking about what bike you may be looking to get.
What if I can’t bring the bike into the store?
Unfortunately, we can only accept trade-ins at our stores.
What if I’m unhappy with the quoted price?
If we haven’t sent your bike off to Cycle Exchange yet you can cancel your trade-in. If we already sent your bike, the trade-in can’t be cancelled. If you buy a new bike with a trade-in and return the new bike, your trade-in will be cancelled but it will not be possible to get your old bike back. You will however, receive back however much the total was, minus any applicable restocking fees.
My bike could not be accepted or had no value. What can I do?
If your bike isn’t eligible for any trade-in value or was rejected, you can still help by donating it to Re-Cycle through us for free. Your bike will be shipped to communities in Africa, where they become vital tools for transport, education, and opportunity. Learn More (opens in new tab)
Can I trade in my e-bike?
